Bobcats

Bobcats, sometimes referred to Skid-Steer Loaders, are extremely robust machines with lift arms used to attach a variety of different tools, known as attachments, such as forklifts, chain diggers, road profiles, road brooms, spreader bars and tilt buckets.

Groundbreaker offers standard or posi-trac bobcats in variety of sizes to suit the work required. Our bobcat’s versatility enables us to provide a wide spectrum of earthmoving solutions, from backyard site cleans to sand ups to slab preparations.

When should I use a Bobcat?
A bobcat’s main function is to bulk out, stockpile and spread and load materials, however, with such a large variety of attachments, a bobcat can conduct many tasks on many different job sites. A bobcat is a great choice for:

  • Concrete preps
  • Sand-ups
  • Backfilling trenches
  • Spread and trim topsoil
  • Contouring for turf
  • Trimming roadbase
  • Bitumen preps
  • Removing concrete
  • Bulking out
  • Levelling
  • Cut and filling
  • Building Swales
  • Sanding up trenches
  • Stockpiling
  • Loading
  • Landscaping
  • Clean-ups

The machine is very manoeuvrable, and it can move through confined and narrow areas allowing transportation of materials where there is no truck access.  On firm ground the machine performs at its best and can achieve good compaction.

However, Bobcats struggle to perform jobs that involve soft ground and wet or muddy conditions. In these scenarios, Groundbreaker recommends the use of a Posi Track to achieve an exceptional result.
